Centre d’excellence pour les patients atteints d’un cancer du poumon et des autres affections du thorax, tumorales et non tumorales, il assure une prise en charge globale : du dépistage au diagnostic, et du traitement au suivi.
Ce centre permet de réunir les compétences et les expertises des deux Instituts, Institut Médico-Chirurgical Montsouris.
Chaque étape de la prise en charge bénéficie d’une approche multidisciplinaire, regroupant tous les praticiens spécialisés autour du patient, pour un traitement individualisé intégrant toutes les thérapeutiques et les innovations.
Les dossiers des patients sont tous discutés en Réunion de concertation pluridisciplinaire (RCP) commune rassemblant les praticiens de l’Institut du Thorax, qui travaillent en collaboration sur les 2 sites Curie et Montsouris (pneumologues, onco-pneumologues, chirurgiens thoraciques …).
L’Institut est également impliqué dans l’enseignement et la recherche, qu’elle soit fondamentale ou clinique. Il offre au patient la possibilité d’accéder aux dernières innovations (médicales et chirurgicales) et de participer à des essais cliniques.
